The narrative centers on Glenn Arias, a black-market death merchant driven by intense grief and a desire for revenge against the government after a drone strike destroyed his wedding, killing his bride and family. This trigger virus is uniquely terrifying because it allows the infected to differentiate between friend and foe, effectively turning zombies into a controllable tactical army. When Rebecca Chambers, now a university professor and researcher, develops a vaccine, Arias attacks her lab.
