Working Designs famously altered difficulty and item names for US releases. The "Collection Exclusive" EBOOTs revert Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete and Arc the Lad II to their original Japanese difficulty curves, speed up text, and restore censored content. These are called "Restoration EBOOTs." Only packs from late 2018 contain the correct CDDA (Red Book Audio) alignment—later rips have audio desync.

You have two options: Download pre-made collections or build your own. For purists, building is safer. For collectors, pre-made packs are faster.

This is the most common use of the term. When Sony released official PS1 classics on the PSN store, they included high-quality cover art and background images. Homebrew conversions often lacked these. "Exclusive" collections often refer to packs where a creator has manually designed custom thumbnails, icons, and background music for thousands of games. These are "exclusive" to that specific uploader's pack, offering a curated, visually appealing UI experience.

This shooter is rare on physical media ($500+ used). But rarer still is the that unlocks the "Debug Menu." A European cracking group injected cheat codes directly into the EBOOT’s PARAM.SFO file, allowing players to activate invincibility and level select without external cheat devices. This version is often watermarked with a hidden CRC check; if the file is altered, the game crashes at the loading screen.

: Programs like PSX2PSP or the more modern pop-fe allow users to package multi-disc games into a single EBOOT file, often adding custom icons, background art, and music to the handheld's menu.
