Finally, a prequel! Bloody Beginnings takes place in 2003 (chronologically before the first film) but focuses on a group of medical students snowed in at an abandoned sanitarium. This sanitarium is the former home of the cannibals. The twist? We see how the inbred family evolved—specifically and One-Eye . The setting is fantastic (a frozen insane asylum), but the characters are so unlikable you actively root for the mutants.
